Activity Description – “The Currencies of Europe: The Language of Money” This interactive activity combines financial education with the celebration of linguistic diversity on the European Day of Languages. Students will take part in a “journey across Europe,” where each stop introduces them to a new country, its currency, and a useful everyday expression in the local language. Working in teams, participants will: Identify the names of different European currencies. Practice simple currency conversions using provided exchange rates. Learn basic money-related phrases in several languages. The activity promotes teamwork, critical thinking, and curiosity about how languages, culture, and economics are interconnected.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.

The event received 1900+ votes and was organised by Lycée Alfred Mézières de Longwy, France.
